Experiment 5: Auricular transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation of vagus nerve for Fibromyalgia

Why is this study being done:
In this research study we want to learn more about if transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), a safe neuromodulation tool, can relieve Fibromyalgia pain. Some previous studies have suggested that TENS can be a promising treatment option for symptoms of chronic pain and this study seeks to further elucidate the treatment effects of TENS on pain relief for Fibromyalgia.

How long it will take:
If you decide to join this research study, it will take you about 8 weeks to complete the study. During this time, we will ask you to make approximately 2 study visits to Charlestown Navy Yard Campus of MGH and participate in approximately 5 remote study visits.

Will I be paid to take part in this research study:
You will be paid $30 for each onsite visit (total of 2). You will also receive an additional $20 upon the completion of the study. If you complete all sessions, you will earn a total of $80.
