Experiment 3: Mechanistic Studies on video-guided acupuncture imagery treatment of knee pain

Why is this study being done:
The aim of this study is to investigate how the brain responds to video-guided acupuncture imagery treatment (VGAIT) and (real) and (fake) acupuncture in knee osteoarthritis.

How long it will take:
It will take you about 1 month to complete this research study. During this time, we will ask you to make 8 study visits to the MGH Charlestown Navy Yard campus.

Will I be paid to take part in this research study:
You will be paid $30 for session 1, $60 for the first fMRI scan session, $15 for each non-fMRI treatment session, and $50 for the final session. There will be a $120 completion bonus. For each
blood draw, you will be paid $30. Total payment is up to $335 (or $395 with the blood draws) for completion of the entire study.
